Our Mission

The mission of Yoshukai Karate International is to preserve and promote the history and traditions of Yoshukai Karate while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, family values and the fair and equitable treatment of all members.  Yoshukai Karate International is an organization with members in four countries.  We are also dedicated to maintaining a world-class level of excellence in our art and our practitioners.

Yoshukai Karate International respects and promotes a "family" environment and culture and believe in traditional fundamentals.  We foster a dynamic environment that embraces individuality while allowing the same opportunities for growth regardless of sex, race, creed, religion, or age.  Emphasis on the student's moral character, core values, and decision making process are always a priority in training.

Style

The foundation of Yoshukai Karate is built on the art of "empty-hand-fighting".  Punching, striking, kicking and blocking are the fundamental techniques, however, joint locks, sweeps, throws, and ground work are reinforced by correct physical and physiological training principles.  Students practice kata (forms), kumite (free sparring), and goshin jitsu (self defense) with emphasis on form, balance, timing, concentration of power, and speed.  Additional training in oriental weaponry (kobudo) and advanced self-defense are provided for advancing students.
